The most important person in my life is Jesus Christ! He is the One who gave me the desire and ability to play. I started playing when I was 13 after going to some local bluegrass shows and getting hooked on the music. My first instrument is the banjo, but I also love to play the guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. I have been a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network since May 2008. I graduated from the University of Kentucky with my MBA in June 2008, and before that I got a degree in marketing from Indiana University. While at IU, I started the Bluegrass and Traditional Music Club with some good friends. I don't know if it's still going or not, but I sure hope so! It was a lot of fun to be involved with. In August 2006, I was blessed with the opportunity to record a cd with some of my friends back home in Wayne, WV. It was a blast! The other musicians on the album are Jessica Adkins, Heather Adkins, Joe Toney, Rudy Rohr, and Robert Maynard. We recorded at River Tracks Studio in Ft. Gay, WV. Less than two years later in the spring of 2008, I got many of the same musicians (with a few additions...including Gerald Evans on the fiddle) together to record again. The second album is called In the Heart of the Bluegrass.
