Looking for what I thought was the lost art of “real country music”, I stumbled into a bluegrass festival in my home state of Michigan, in the late ‘80s. I was captivated by the sound of the music and particularly the five string banjo. In 1991 I started learning to play and in 1996, helped form an amateur bluegrass band, “Banjo Overkill”, which I played in until moving to North Carolina in 1998. My career and other activities caused a lull in the banjo playing until my retirement in 2004. At that time I started playing music with other local musicians in a jam format which eventually became a working band, “Bent Grass”, Please check us out at http://www.bentgrassmusic.com/ I live near Hendersonville. NC with my wife, Nancy. My main hobby is golf, another “bent grass” connection.
