I started playing banjo as a pro in 1953 as a member of 'The Ozark Opry', at the Lake of the Ozarks. I was a Bluegrass Boy in the 62/63 era. I recorded 12 songs on Decca with Mr. Bill. I currently have a band (Lonnie Hoppers & New Union) and am still playing, mostly in the mid-west. I teach banjo and that's very special for me to pass on the knowledge I've gathered throughout all my years of playing. What a blessing it is to ( Pass It On ). The next generation of banjo players will be very hard to clean after.
