I have been playing 5-string banjo for thirty-seven years. And, teaching for more than seventeen years. Styles are clawhammer and classical (4 finger style) I work one to one, and go with the pace of the student, it's not a case of lesson one this week and lesson two next week. Age is no problem, I have had a banjo student start at age seventy and learned with no difficulty. To my slight embarrassment my students tell me that I make the whole process of learning extremely simple. well I do start literally at the beginning, counting the strings. Anybody that attends lessons with me, I do guarantee, with little effort on their part, WILL PLAY THE BANJO. I am now in a position to supply all the basic needs for the beginner, including, .. banjos, tuners, capos, sliding capos etc. Repairs and modifications are also part of the service.
