after graduating high school i joined the u.s.a.f. to see the world.from what i saw of the world,there ain't no place like my home here in mississippi.i have have been in the auto repair industry in one form or another for most of my life.i have been the parts manager at the local ford dealer for about five years now.last year a music shop opened here and offered a summer music program.my two sons wanted to learn to play instruments so i said now is as good a time as any.i finally had the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument.i have always loved the sound of the banjo.since i also do civil war reenacting i figured the open back banjo was the best choice for me.i am really interested in the music from that time in our nation's history.my teacher plays with the larry wallace band-a local bluegrass band.he is a great guy and has helped me out alot.the boy can play anything with strings on it.
