This Banjo was given to me as a gift...It's a beautiful instrument, I'm embarrassed to say I don't know much about it other then it's an "Alvarez".
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
I'm new to all of this, though I've always love the sound of the banjo. The bluegrass I usually listen to is whatever happens to be playing on Sirius radio when I tune in the bluegrass station. I could only name a few bands...Allison Krauss and Union Station immediately come to mind. Otherwise, I love most any music---especially country, but also classic rock, some of the softer alternative stuff. I also love the sound of Celtic music....

Born and raised in West Virginia....went to WVU...still live here. Have always had an interest in music, but it wasn't until my divorce at age 35 that I finally started taking banjo lessons. So...I'm completely NEW to this, however, I love it and welcome any advice....
