I am a playwright of some repute in some circles. I focus mainly on comedy, but I'm also currently co-writing a musical based on Norton I Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico. (Google him; a fascinating guy.) I turned 40 and decided to buy a banjo (I named it MLC). It was either that or get a convertable sportscar and a new girlfriend. My wife is glad that I chose the banjo.
