I was so happy when I found this forum. I love banjo and bluegrass music and I have never known one single person in real life that played a banjo. That makes it hard to learn anything unless I go take lessons and I just don't have time for that.
Everything I know about playing banjo and the actual banjo itself is all self taught. To some the phrase self taught might be admirable. To mean it just means, slow, oh so slow. That is why at 4 years of playing I am still just a novice.
I don't know if I wil ever be considered a great player but if not, it won't be from lack of trying.
