Duelin' Banjos got me going - in Connecticut. Played in various bands/jams as I moved to South Dakota, Minnesota, Colorado, Alabama, New Orleans (28 days before Katrina), Wisconsin and now Vermont. I produced the documentary, THE LIBRARIAN AND THE BANJO, about Dena Epstein, the music librarian who "wrote the book" on slave music. She proved, beyond doubt, that the banjo was originated by African slaves.
