Started playin as therapy after finishing college.. self taught, mainly clawhammer. I just got the fretless for Christmas this year (dec 2007). Got turned onto the african banjo connection through cecilia conway's book and have been interested in capturing that sound ever since. I love old string band music (check out the Carolina Chocolate Drops!!) but prefer solo banjo or banjo/fiddle. I used to be in an experimental/improvisational banjo/cello/drums band in portland called Mimosa and I do love playing with a good drummer. But I consider myself to be mainly a dedicated amateur. Right now I am interested in getting accustomed to the fretless and focusing on traditional old-time.
