Numerous ranging from early country to folk, some indie music, rock and pop. Favourite artists inclued The Carter Family, Gillian Welch, Mark Olson, Bright Eyes, Amy Winehouse, Patti Smith, Handsome Family, Rufus Wainwright, Lucinda Williams ( as well as all the 80s music I group up listening to!).

I work for a college in London, I sing and play guitar in a folk/country band called The Blue Vegas. I've been playing music (guitar mostly) for over 10 years, never brilliantly but I enjoy it and we've done a few gigs. Last year I bought my first banjo and am really loving it. Would like to incorporate it into my songwriting and gigs at some stage. My blue grass technique is making slow but good progress but the clawhammering is much more difficult. Sometimes I just strum it with a soft pick so I can sing over it but I wonder if banjo officiandos would kill me for that!
