There are some really amazing banjo builders in this region of the country. Two of our favorites are Warren Yates and Clancy Mullins.
We have been fortunate to have had Clancy's banjos in the past and we just received 2 great banjos from Clancy last week. My favorite is the one with the green finish. It is very cool, sounds great, and really stands out.
We also received our second Ron Stewart Maple from Warren Yates. This one is a little different than our other Ron Stewart Maple because it is light brown with simple inlays. While it looks mild and meek, the sound is bold and bright. The maples are more forward than the two Ron Stewart Mahogany models we have in stock. The Mahogany models are more mellow and rounded sounding but they can still hold their own. I asked Ron, at Rhythm and Roots Reunion in September which he one preferred. He said he plays both models depending on his mood and the song they are playing.
If you are in the area, stop by and try the banjos from both of these great builders.
