I began playing guitar at age 14. In my early 20's I picked up a Deering "Good Time" banjo, sort of as a joke. I soon fell in love with the wonderful earthy sound of the Banjo, and have continued to play since. I played in a Bluegrass band called "The High and Lonesome Boys" in my hometown of Oshkosh, WI for about 8 years. I then studied music and theory with local Oshkosh guitar legend Tom Theabo. Currently I play guitar and banjo in an all original Americana/folk rock band called "Frankie and the Wheels". About 5 years ago I began teaching banjo and guitar, and I currently teach in a studio at "Heid Music" located in Oshkosh, WI. Teaching banjo is the most fun and rewarding job I have ever had.
