I caught the banjo bug in 1987 after a friend offered to sell me a beginner banjo along with a Jack Hatfield instruction book and cassette tape. Seems like a million years ago now that I would fall asleep with the banjo on my lap practicing rolls. Growing up I was always fascinated with the sounds I heard when the Beverly Hillbillies would come on as a child. I already played a few other instruments and had been out of the Army by then, so I figured, "what the heck!" I can do this.... and I LOVE IT AND ALWAYS WILL! Pick on my friends!
