Yes, that's right folks! Gather 'round while I tell the tale of a 20-year-old gal bein' payed for her "banjo skills."
No, I might not be the fastest, or have the fullest repetoire, or even have the greatest technique. But that don't stop the good people O'Jerusalem from payin' me my due :)
I've been playing with my banjo teacher downtown for the practice (honest, that was our business there!) and all of a sudden, I see people pooling toward us tossing coins here and there for our playing! It was then that I felt 100% validation from my live audience. Now, G-d forbid that I should be playing for other people's validations, but there is no feeling like the feeling of people loving my music.
My repetoire being a mere:
Five Foot Two, Bill Bailey, Oh Susana, Blueberry Hill, When You're Smilin', and a few more jigs.
None-the-less, people payed to hear me! Need I elaborate further?!
