I began playing ukulele in about 1950, influenced by Arthur Godfrey (if you are old enough to remember him). Toyed with finger picking the guitar for many years. I have been playing tenor banjo for 10 years playing trad (Dixieland) jazz tunes. Now I am interested in clawhammer banjo and old time music. At this point I am in a learning mode. I now have a Gold tone CB-100 openback and am taking clawhammer lessons. Dec 2010. I have been playing now for just over a year and I am finally beginning to feel that i will be able to play clawhammer. So, I got a new banjo. A Gold Tone OT-800. It sure does sound like a tubaphone!
