I started listening to Bluegrass in the late '70s after hearing Old and in the Way. Then we started going to Rooney Mountain each year; what a blast that was. That banjo became my favorite instrument to listen too. I bought my brother a banjo for Christmas, since he liked them, played the guitar already and I thought there was no way I would ever play the thing. Twenty years later my wife and kids are visiting him and my son eyes up the banjo. My brother Steve told him he could take it home and try it out so he did. He never did anything with it and one day I was just sitting around and picked up the banjo and old learning pamphlet from 1983 and started picking. After a while of doing just rolls I figure I might be able to play the thing after all, so on Feb 6 I bought one and have been practicing ever since. My only regret is that I didn't do it twenty years ago:-)
