I have a 1929 style one Gibson but was never satisfied with the sound nor volume this instrument produced so it just stayed in the closet for years. I was visiting Don Bryant in Thurmond, NC and we talked about that banjo. Don is a master builder and thought he may have the solution and my thoughts were confirmed. He recommended a Jerry Slone Ring. For years Don has partnered with Jerry and he knew the result of this prewar style ring. I called Jerry and we talked about my situation and I decided to try the ring. The ring was installed and the banjo was set up and I was blown away at the prewar sound produced by the Slone ring! Don and Jerry is a partnership made in heaven for the benefit of those of us who are looking for "that sound".
