I'm not a banjo mechanic. I just purchased a 60's Kay banjo that currently has a 3/8" bridge that makes playing very difficult. I want to change the bridge but, of course, I'll have to adjust the neck angle as well. I've loosened the screw at the back of the heel and have also loosened the large nut on the rim rod. But, the neck remains rock solid. Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
