Happily married for 33 years. I met my husband while serving in the U.S. Navy in Iceland. After my tour in the Navy, I became a stay-at-home mom. Our kids are now grown and we have one grandson.
Music has always been a big part of my life. I became interested in the guitar at 6 and dreamed of having one for years. Finally, at age 14, my Dad gave me a Sears electric guitar. Lessons were not in the cards for me so I am self taught.
I was in all music classes in school and enjoyed many years in the band. I understand music theory but being self taught on guitar, I began with some bad habits that are hard to break. I do not want to make that same mistake with the banjo so here I am browsing for beginner info. (wish we had internet way back when. ha )
Now, my journey with the banjo is about to begin and I couldn't be happier with my life. Any tips for a beginning banjo player would be greatly appreciated. :)
