Tibetan Tiger face close

Posted 9/2/2017 4:47:15 PM

Here's a closer view of the cast Tiger head/face. From a clay sculpture, cast with plaster to make a negative mold. Strips of recycled paper grocery bags are saturated in aliphatic resin glue and pressed into the mold, several layers, making a very thin, stiff, resonant shell. The shell is attached to a hollow-core rim/pot of maple, spruce and bay laurel woods.
