Another stay at home , and forage a meal. So, hidden under the blanket of fresh grated Parmesan is a mound of thin fettuccini, well dolloped with a fast meat sauce (not daring to call it a Sunday gravy), and a liberal sprinkling of garden basil. Paired with what turned out to be a great wine blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet sauv. Brad
Forgot to take pics , but made a great Massaman curry chicken dish yesterday and it was damn tasty if I do say so myself. Made it outside on my portable wok station and it must of smelled great to, as a neighbor about a quarter mile away got in his truck and drove over to see “what smells so damn good” Slammer!!!
My compliments to da pig!!! Better than any steak I’ve had in the last 2 years. And the view didn’t suck either!!! Cooked to 148 and 150 respectively!!! Fresh strawberry spinach salad and potato duo !!! Slammer!!!
Dinner pix: we went out to meet a guy about a truck and stopped at Papa's Pizza for dinner afterwards. Al had a small special pizza and I had a chicken Caesar wrap.

Those look great! Right up there with a thick steak, we enjoy thick bone-in pork. We usually try to find 1-1/2" + thick pork steaks cut lengthwise from a pork shoulder/boston butt. Its getting more difficult to find that thick of a cut nowadays. I may have to start looking for whole shoulders and cut/saw em myself. I have done that once. you get 4-5 steaks long ways along with end cuts to chop up for other stuff. Brad
Those 2 huge pork chops were on sale. Over 1lb a piece and total cost was $6.34. Now how the hell do ya beat that. Plus leftovers for a sammich!!! Slammer!!!
Last night another forage in the pantry and the freezer. Coarse ground brats skillet grilled and finished on a bed on onion and kraut, liberally doused with Maggi. With a side of spaetzle-well buttered after draining. Brad
Sunday night was steak night. Ribeye with a roastin’ ear, salt crusted potato, blackened baguette (I should not answer the phone when stuff on the grill). Brad
Last hurrah of the beef last night--no pix. Open face sandwich on garlic sourdough toast consisting of sliced beef topped with garlic herb butter and warmed briefly. Pretty good! Small salad of cucumber and red onion.
