My new Deering Deluxe is on its' way and should arrive, per the UPS tracking, November 3rd, 2011. I am psyched to get it and I'm looking forward to learning all that I can from everyone on the site. It is actually supposed to be a Christmas present, and the wife is telling me I can't play it until Christmas morning. Well, we'll see. :-)

	Randyc1959 says: 11/7/2011 8:36:06 AM It's worth the wait too. I've had mine since 1985 and it's the only banjo I've owned and I really don't have a desire to buy any other. I'd like to perhaps have some fancy inlay installed on mine but other than that I'm happy.
	MapleNuts says: 11/8/2011 7:38:36 PM So I received the Deluxe from Musician's Friend and low and behold there was split of the wood on the front rim around 3 inches long. Back to UPS tomorrow and goodbye Musician's Friend. I ordered a new Deluxe from Elderly Instruments subject to inspection and it should be here by the weekend. Again the wife says "no playing 'til Christmas" Oy Vey. :-(

	MapleNuts says: 1/24/2012 3:41:02 AM The Deering is definitely a better banjo. I had a resonator made by Gold Tone. It was OK for what I paid for it. The first Deering i ordered from MFI was at a big discount because it was return and was supposed to be perfect except for the packaging. Yeah right. The one from Elderly Instruments was perfect. You will enjoy the Deering Deluxe very much. Better quality.
