Today, 13th of December 2012 I got my Recording King -35 banjo.
From the net store in Germany, "Thomann Musik" I saw their good price
and I bought from them an RK-35 banjo. I am totally satisfied by their fast service.
Greg Rich knows his craft and this shows in every part of this RK-35 banjo. The design is unsophisticated and yet beautiful with it´s gull inlays that reminds of an RB-2 Gibson, I believe.
The pot is first class 3-ply maple, one piece flange and a flathead tone- ring.
I put on a Huber bridge and tighten the head. I don´t need to do anything of mechanical in future with this banjo. The feel and the sound is to my liking big time!
Kudos to Recording King and Greg Rich!
Amen.

Playing Since: 1965
Experience Level: Purty Good
Interests:
[Teaching] [Jamming] [Socializing] [Helping]
Occupation: houseworker, etc.
Gender: Male
Age: 75
My Instruments:
Earl Scruggs Standard 1990 with a Blaylock no hole unplated J.D. Crowe ring,
Gold Tone with a Blaylock ring.
The latest is the 1926 TB-1 Gibson that is my next project. I will convert it to an RB-1 and copy the design of the tenor neck and a Blaylock tonering. I keep the original diamond flange system. By next spring 2010 I hope to hear the first notes from this old/new banjo. The TB-1 Gibson is finished and sound to my liking. My newest banjo is a Recording King RK-35 and is the best banjo for the money, I think!
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Flatt & Scruggs, J.D. Crowe, Sonny Osborne, Don Reno, Bill Emerson, Eddie Adkock, Dennis Caplinger, Jim "Duck" Adkins and most everyone who plays better than me. That´s a lot of folks!
