This is the future of most music with the exception of the kinds of music played by regular folks on the porches and in the kitchens of America.

I won’t be spending any money or time listening to AI created music.

Why even post this garbage? It's not music

I give them credit for the album name. Clever. I also like any band with two banjos. Otherwise, acckkkkk!!! Not the future of anything.

There needs to be some part of life that is completely free of AI contamination. This is proof of it.

I didn't put mucho effort into analysing (?) the words/message/??, but I wonder what proportion of the general population could identify it as AI-generated.

As one from 'w-a-y over toward the left  end of the spectrum, I suspect it would be quite small.  [But I've been told that I've been wrong before. wink ]

I couldn't understand a word "they" sang.

I'm confident EVERY "instrument" was plugged in and remotely controlled, and "they" all had ear monitors that they had to fool with constantly instead of paying attention to making music. Ooops, that's not AI, that's the CURRENT state of live bluegrass...

Well, never give up hope! My 34 year old daughter tells me she wants an acoustic guitar and wants to learn how to play. There are also many videos on you tube of young real people playing and singing.

Get with the times, kids. For the past six months or so, I've been inviting all my friends over with their computers so the computers can jam.

We just sit around and ignore the machines while drinking beer.

It's not quite like an actual jam, but it's close enough.

I wonder what an AI Bluegrass Festival would look like?
Perhaps fields of lawn chairs filled with sweaty people under a hot sun, all wearing Meta Smart Glasses & ear buds as the silence echoes from the hillside.

Good timing. Good intonation. Good rhythm.

Trite lyrics, about the level of modern "country" music.  Limited vocal range, like modern country music, 3-5 notes.

Back up styles used for instrumental solos, like much of the advice given to newer players who want to learn how to "jam."

Good to dance to. I'll give it a 75.

forward roll aka scruggs style is here to stay--the singing I never went crazy for--except for a few great lyrics in the verses--AI or one of it's ancestors Table edit never knew a backward roll was difficult as Earl rightfully warned us about,,so though not trully listening I did hear unnatural right hand statements --
Bluegrass comes and goes in locals--on web sites--in homes--not to worry in a world lost to jet speed genre inventions--just make the banjo talk ==like no robot can fake--if the the crowd goes for file/grass their stupidity and staying power is better off somewhere else --
For all involved-good --time tested --generation jumping tunes are here to stay--have you worked on yours today--

After reading all the complaints about the music, I finally listened. It wasn't the best bluegrass I ever heard, but it wasn't bad. I could understand the words and the music sounded pretty good.

I would rather listen to "live" people playing than AI, but it still wasn't all that bad.

I still remember when the Moog synthesizer was going to replace every other instrument. This too shall pass.

I’m not worried about it. I think the more techno we get with AI or anything else that comes along, the stronger the backlash.

In regards to backlash, I'm doing my bit, but I'm not sure it's having much effect .....

I found the melody very difficult to follow, and yes, I too had trouble understanding the words. Although "relatively catchy" (remember, so was the tune Achy breaky heart. TO the point of becoming absolutely "I can't believe the radio is playing that song again..... ) I don't believe at this point A.I. Generated bluegrass music can really cut it. At least not yet. No doubt as time passes it is likely to get better. Having said all that, it certainly doesn't measure up to nearly ANY bunch of real folks who play bluegrass music. Although.... it might be a bit better than a "few bands of real people" that I have heard!!

It doesn't matter how good or bad the AI product is.
I hope we never lose sight of the fact that creating art is a human endeavor. There is intention behind it, and emotion, by people who practiced hard and are trying to communicate something.
It's the difference between a process and a machine churning through ones and zeroes.

Surely Boston Dynamics is working on a band to bring this to reality?

Is this really gonna sell or catch on? If the general public knows it’s fake or “machine-made” why would they buy that when they can get the real thing with soul added? Or am I being naive/ whistling in the dark?

When my iPhone is on the charger at night it sneaks off to connect with other iPhones for a jam.

Please explain.

I haven't the faintest clue what you're talking about.

Is there a band coming back together or something?

I posted this more for FYI purposes. While the technology behind it may be amazing, it lacks the warmth of the human factor and blurs the line between fantasy and reality, which is the scariest part of A.I. in whatever manner it is used. And the ones who may be affected most are the children growing up with it, not having known the difference.
I myself having listened to some of the songs on this album , have decided id rather listen to Randy Graham hitting an occasional flat note. As the bomber pilot in the movie Fail Safe said, complaining about some of the technological advances, " I miss the human element."
