.22 Hornet has always interested me, but I have never had one. Looks like you are getting your money’s worth and then some.

I rather like that case n chamber..
You fire form a factory round in it.. n when you reload the k- hornet ya get 2 to 3 hundred fps more..

It’s pretty cool you seem to favor small bore, classic rifles. Back in the days, there were some fine rifles chambered in .22 Hornet.
I went to a gun show last weekend, did not see one .22 Hornet.
I did see acres and acres of 6.5 Creedmore. Mostly on black guns. Obviously lots of folks like that. And, good for them.
Personally, I have a preference for medium bore rifles.
My favorite is a 9.3x62. I have 2. If you do any reading on that cartridge or watch a YouTube video on it, it has a very interesting history.

This is a stock I am currently building for one of my 9.3’s. It is being made for a large ring CZ 98 Mauser.
Ballistic of a 9.3x62 comes close to a.375 HH.
But the rifle is about the size of a .243
Recoil is considerable.
This is claro walnut. I’m using a mixture of tung oil and urethane, commercially made by Brownell’s.

As of late..I found an old project i put together.. a barrel for a 219 savage..in 25-35 win..
Found a 25-35 AI chamber reamer on ebay..made an offer on it n now..it is mine..
I have an older 219 savage reciver.. from apx 1938..
Clear to see..it has had ..alot..of history..
It came with a barrel in 22 hornet...
Someone tried to put a scope mount on it..
Drilled right into the chamber.. :0(
Studying i..I figgered out ..just how that came about..
The person doing it must of only had a starting tap..
N attempted to over drill to cut threads..n..oops... (Not..Me... ! ;0)..)

Long story short..I was able to repair the barrel..it is now a 22-250 chamber..
Shoots super good...
But the extractor is weak for that..safe to shoot but dose not eject full power loads..

Also...that barrel..is the only barrel that fits that receiver with the exception of one other barrel I made years ago for that receiver.

219 n 220 barrels should from the factory be interchangeable..

But not so with this receiver..
Being first year of production..I just figgered that was the way it was..n never gave it a second thought..
Till now..
Turns out..

The hinge pin...had been replaced at some time ago in its life..to a larger one...

N..so..now I know..
But..
In the resurrection of the old project..
I fit the barrel to this old reciver..

A 219 savage reciver..
Is..very busy on the inside...not fun to work on...
Lotta compressed springs n things...

Sooo...I opted to go to another old reciver I had on hand...
No soap...

The freshly cut barrel..will only fit the reciver i cut it to...
Which lead me to the discovery....
Some time in its past..someone..replaced the main hinge pin..to a larger one..
I dunno why...
But tis why other barrels will not fit..
Unless modified..

So...now..I have no choice but to fix the reciver or replace the parts...
I did find old replacement parts n they are commin..
N..I did get what I needed to get out of the old reciver...

But gettin them...back in...

Today's project make a stock screw for a rifle..
N..resizing die tha decaps.. too..
This is for the 25-35 Ai...
So in one pass it resizes n decaps the case..
Did 10 cases ..works pretty ok..

Here is an interesting concept i came up with...
I added a fold at the shoulder..
It acts kinda like a spring or shockabsorber ..
I can now load more powder than before...n still have zero extraction problums..

In the normal case..they would not extracted as well..using less powder..

I have loaded this case 4 times as of now..
Will be testing it out a bit more.. ;0)

Milling a scope mount for a m-10 Canadian Ross rifle in 303 British...
Started off with a piece of angle steel..

Scope mounted...cleaned n blued the steel parts added 5 round magazine
Cut the barrel to 24" from 29"..n re crowned the muzzel..
Zeroed the rifle at me range.. dose well..need to make some of me own ammo.. tho...
Now making the hand gaurd.. :0)

More of the project..

The swing safety was missing a spring n plunger..
So....
I sacrificed a clicker pen spring n a bb gun bb...
Cut the spring n used the bb as the plunger..works great.. :0)
Sanded the stock clean now addin a finish to it.birch wood casey stock finish..

Staind the hand gaurd n attached it to the barrel via an old spent 303 Britt case..
The same caliber as the rifle.

Oh..n used a brass bolt fer a stock bolt...

Chronograph...it measures velosity..

25-35 wcf...

Picked up an old 25-20 savage sporter barrel..
It has a 0ne in fourteen inch twist rate..
Good fer cast boolits...
Put it in me 1885 winchester falling block..
The trick to this job is that the barrel shank width is a tad shy..
So had to make it snug up with no..shoulder on the barrel..

Proof tested it today..with a hot load....

Now I gotta cut the barrel fer the extractor...

The chambering had to be finished all by hand as there was no room fer fergiveness.... :0/

Extractor port is cut n extractor cut n fit..
Test fired with another proof load... ( stiff) powder charge...
Extracted just fine..
Can be made to eject too....depending on how brisk you use the lever..
Gotta make a forearm next..

An..unsuspecting piece of wood in the driveway...
Looks to me to be a piece of ..forearm fodder... ;0)
