Zeroed the rifle..
Not too bad..
But these old weavers will show you annah Imperfections in alignment..pertaining to the bore..
This was a complicated job fer me..n a lot of the splitting of the hairs involved..

So the crosshairs are a tiny bit off center in the old scope..
But real close..
Next few days..I will not monkey with the alignment..as it is spot on for zero as of right now..
N..a coupl'ah deer in a coupl'ah buddys freezers would be a good thing..as they both make great venison jerkey... :0)

So fer now good'nuff...
After that..(if it happens..)

I can adjust a bit....
All in all real happy with this project.. :0)

I have always liked Weaver bases and rings. The ones made of steel. To me, that’s just the way a rifle with a scope is supposed to look. It’s almost guaranteed, however, the rings will need to be lapped.
Although I don’t care for the appearance, a good picatinny rail can help with minor misalignment of holes.
I am painstaking about mounting scopes. I always check the ring alignment with alignment bars. So far, the alignment has been dead on with a picatinny rail.

That is one cool rifle.

So I got board...n decided..to finish centering the scope on this little 6mm...
Made the adjustments..
Bore sighted it as best I could..
Not wanting to go up to the range..
I..Just got a board n screwed a ammo reloading sticker on it..
Leaned the board on a convenient stump..about 25 yards away...

Didn't think it would be dead on enuff to hit the screw...
But...
It did... :0)

Well put that load over the speedometer..2300 fps..

Changed the primer I was using to a harder one
N..bumped the powder load up to 23.5 grains..
Probly get me to 2500 fps or so...

Speedometered...the new load ..
23.5 grains of aa 2230
With an 85 grain speer bt bullet..
2485 fps..
I suspect..the 80 gr boolit would be about 50 fps to 75 fps faster..

But I had 6 of these speer boolits left in the box..
So I used them up..

I'm happy with thos results :0)..

Wanna try them in the 6mm wildcat round n rifle that I made..

Made a new n better 6mm die..
Working out the bugs...
Making the bullet jackets..is best in a 2 step prosses..
Thicker brass...
Step 1..start to take out the rim step2... brings it to a .243 cup..
Then pour the hot core..n trim to lenth..

Then to the form die..n then finished in a .243 dize die..

Playing with the die depth adjustments..to find the best set up....these are hollow points..
With this die I made today..

The finished sample lot..
The ones in me hand were the die adjustment samples..
Made the jig ..to cut 83 grain boolits..this is the difference in lenth..
N.. .2435.. for diameter..
Put 2 ovah the speedometer..
2507..n..2519..fps..we're the 2 readings..
With the aa2230 23.5 grain load..

Now to load a few..n see how good they do shoot at paper..

Make shift target...
Made 8 rounds fooled around zeroing at the black square..
N final 3 shots at the white sticker. The 3 shot group just above n to the right..
Thay workin out pretty...ok...
Upped the load 3 tenths of a grain in powder too..
:0)
Pretty much a full case seeins how deep the boolits need to be seated..
