The last 2hole i got it to zero..

1800 fps 169 cast gc hp..
26 gr imr 3031..
Every once in a while ya bean it ..right oft the bat.. :0)
Wanted 1800 fps..n first shot was dead nuts on target..
Shot a few 170 gr lee cast bullets too..
Just hit a tad lower..

The lower 4 shot group...
I know that i buggered the hole to the right..


Thus proovin that tha ammo n gun..
Is more accurate than me.. ;0

On the flip side...

The little 32 s&w..rifle..
Panned out completely differnt n what i thougjt i would find...

Factory ammo.
.88 gr bullet... 800 fps

Me l00 gr cast pb...1350 fps..
Slightly...hotter.. ;0)

Me 85 gr cast gc.. 1360 fps..

N..the little cast round 32 cal ball...
1750 .fps...... apx 60 gr.

All the same powder charge...


The one bullet that i thought would be the ..most accurate.
Was the worst...
The 85 gr gc..bullet..
8" group at 50 yards...

The 100 gr pb bullet did better...at apx..5" group at 50 yards..

But.. the little round ball..
Did about 1 1/2"... at 50 yards...

Had no problum..knockin around the 4" gong... at 50 yards..

Go figger...

I think..if i can find a
30 cal throater reamer..
Things will improve..

It's all a learnin curve...
..fun to tinker with too..

The 32 rb weighs 49 gr..not 60 gr....

I have not read it.

But it is one reason..i make gun parts..but not recivers..

Makes a nice waist band..

The spru cut off has to be centered..or cut off..

I use me swiss army knife sissors to trim it up..

230 gr cast bullets
Imr 4831 powder..

The Krags are the slickest bolt actions..

The back story..
I have a Savage 219 reciver that i make these kinda projects for...

Savage offered rifle barrels back in the day.. in a few calibers one being 30-30 Win....

The barrels go fer more $ than i want to spend..
So i have been waiting for an exceptable deal..to show up..

Bang!Zoom! Alice..!

The deal came up on ebay..as a buy it now..
So i jumped....

Box came in the mail..but it had been torn open..the barrel gone...only leaving the forearm..n the box ..resealed..

Stolen by someone... :0/

Bummed i am..been.lookin fer the right deal fer 5 years now..

I got re-embursed me $.. n the seller said to keep the forearm...

Long stiry short..a 30-30 win barrel was found in me barn..

One of the guys bought it fer a project..

But it could not be made to fit..

Soooo....free to me !

I will atempt to make the factory forearm fit..

It was a Springfield a3 barrel..
Some factory turned it into a 20" lever action barrel in 30-30 win..

N...now i have repurposed it to me 219 Savage..

This load did well ...a lee 162 gr gas checked bullet n
Win 748 powder..29.6 grains..
Shot well..apx 2000 fps
