I played a bit today, all work, no noodles. That's what I was in the mood for. And I did some directional thinking. To quote Squeeze (and I prefered the name UK Squeeze, myself) "should I commit or should I blow"?
I have realized that commitment doesn't mean putting in the time, showing up every day, punching the clock. I either have to embrace this pursuit, wholeheartedly and with passion, or chalk it up to another thing tried and set aside for something new to learn. Now, unless I am way off base, when it comes to any musical pursuit, there is always something new to learn. It never ends. I don't have to look any farther than my own back yard to keep learning. Time to take off the ruby slippers and get there on my own power.
