As I get older, there is less and less spontaneity in my life. Everyday things get bigger, harder to work around. And it just so happens that this weekend, I am about as unencumbered as I get these days. In a stroke of luck, or serendipity, or whatever you want to call it, my sister called this morning and said, "Come to the beach this weekend with me!" I was thrilled to be able to say, "OK!" It's only a quick 2-day trip but we'll have a great time. There's nothing like the smell and sound of the ocean surrounding you to give you some renewal.
I will bring Deadbone; I may not get much playing time in, unless the weather is particularly good. At that beach house, I like to sit out on the little deck and play outside. There will probably be too much commotion inside, between family and friends, to play considerately inside. And outside suits me just fine.
